Ashokbhai Chaudhary and Gordhanbhai Dhameliya take charge as Chairman and Vice Chairman of GCMMF (Amul), marking a new chapter in the leadership of India’s largest dairy cooperative

This announcement came after the recently concluded Board of Directors meeting held at the GCMMF headquarters in Anand, Gujarat. Ashokbhai Chaudhary is known as a significant figure in the cooperative sector of Gujarat because he has been linked closely with grassroots dairy development for many years. His deeply rooted understanding of the entire dairy ecosystem as well as rural dynamics suggests continuity and strategic renewal for the federation.

Such commitment to the cause of cooperative development also brings wealth of experience and insight to his being a good selection as Vice Chairman for Gordhanbhai Dhameliya. GCMMF is a federation, but also a movement to transform India from having been a milk-deficient country to the world largest producer of milk. It operates under a unique cooperative structure representing 3.6 million milk producers, spread across 18,600 village dairy cooperative societies.

This affects so many Indian households as one can find Amul milk, butter, ice cream, and cheese in nearly every household in India. The cause of new leaders is both opportunities and challenges. GCMMF is legacy-bound but in a world rapidly changing just as consumers grow health-conscious and competition emerges in global markets, innovation will also have to be brought about by the federation.

From sustainability practices and digital transformation to farmer welfare and global expansion, expectations are understandably placed high. Both of them take charge at a critical point in time. GCMMF has absolutely continued to show robust performance, and the trust, quality, and reach of the Amul brand also prevails. Their leadership would mostly aim at strengthening the supply chain resilience further, expanding the product portfolio, and empowering milk producers through transparent and tech-driven operations.

Leaders take on heavy traditions and load of promise with transformation whereby both represent that brand that is deeply woven into Indian life. It would be markets affected by their vision and decisions but also millions of rural livelihoods and cooperative spirit, which defines the success of Amul.

Actually, leadership change stands for the strength of the cooperative model and GCMMF's commitment towards democratic values. It marks the face of Indian agriculture ballpark entrepreneurship evolution where farmer leaders will not manage only dairy but build institutions, foster inclusion, and change the state's nutritional future.

With this new line of Ashokbhai Chaudhary and Gordhanbhai Dhameliya, GCMMF is ready for growth's next chapter, remaining a part of the past and confidently accepting the next.
